José Carreras in Italy
In 1972, a few months after winning the Voci Verdiane competition, Carreras made his Italian debut at the Teatro Regio di Parma in La Boheme. In 2003, he returned to the Concorso Internazionale Voci Verdiane as the President of the Jury.

It marked the full circle of his career in Italy, the country that saw many of his most moving performances, and the country that took him to its heart like a son.

This section of Voce di Tenore contains English translations of Italian press articles documenting Carreras' career in the land where opera itself was born.
